Our award winning Melbury organic semi-hard sheep milk cheese is made with sheep milk from our own organic sheep milk farm in the idyllic Dorset countryside.It has already won awards for its superb texture and nutty flavor. Made in the proper artisan way, it is matured for a minimum of 7 months, resulting in a delicious tasting cheese. The cheese is made to the same world class standards that our award-winning yoghurts have been made to, for over 30 years. Our sheep enjoy open year-round grazing in our fields, except for when we bring them into our airy barns during any adverse winter weather for their comfort. We have found that happy sheep make for great tasting cheese and yoghurt, so their welfare is our top priority. Our yoghurt and cheese products win multiple awards every year, due to their delicious creamy taste. Sheep milk is also more digestible than cow milk and is suitable for people who suffer from digestive issues if they eat cow milk products. The milk is also higher in a lot of nutrients than cow or goat milk. For example, sheep milk has over 3 times as much vitamin C, and more than 6 times as much Vitamin D as cow—s milk. We have the largest organic dairy sheep flock in the UK, which means we are in total control of the quality of the milk supply that goes into making our Melbury cheese. We take great pride in producing the highest quality sheep and goats milk products, and all our organic products like our Melbury sheep milk cheese are certified by the Soil Association to ensure compliance with their organic standards, and to ensure the highest hygiene standards in their production.
